Looking to add to its Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk locations, Zelky’s Beach Arcade is opening a location in Tanger Outlets Bayside, which is the shopping center with Nike, Old Navy, Under Armor and others.
The arcade’s unmistakable bright pink sign and elephant-themed logo have been hung above Suite 470. A bright pink piece of tape on the window of the outlet location simply says, “Opening soon.”
An unidentified employee at Zelky’s confirmed the new location during a phone call Nov. 28, but declined to comment any further on when the new arcade is supposed to open.
“We’re all excited about that new space,” said the employee.
Zelky’s is a family-owned, multi-generational operation. Charles “Chuck” Weiner opened the company’s first arcade on the Boardwalk – Dolles Arcade – in 1985. In the years that followed, the company took over two additional arcades on the Boardwalk and rebranded as Zelky’s in 2018. Zelky was a nickname Chuck was given by his aunt when he was a kid. Chuck’s son, Matt, now operates the business.
