Jenn Barrows, president of Sussex Strong, the Sussex County Association of Realtors community service foundation, announced sponsorships are available for its 2024 gala, set for Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
“On behalf of the Sussex Strong board, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of our organization,” said Barrows. “Last year’s gala was a massive success, and we are thrilled to introduce our theme for this year’s event: An Enchanting Evening at Hogwarts – A Grand Gala of Wizardry. With less than four months to go until this magical event, we anticipate another sold-out celebration.”
The gala has become a cherished tradition with a history of raising funds for local children in need. Since its inception in 1994, the gala has raised $1,692,106, and has helped more than 10,324 children and families in need in Sussex County. Funds raised are used to support an average of 300 local children each year, providing them with essential items including new coats, clothing, shoes, toiletries and school supplies, in addition to a special toy for every child. Organizers owe this success to local supporters and sponsors.
“Sussex Strong is committed to improving the lives of children and families in Sussex County. Its efforts have provided grants and financial support to local groups such as the Food Bank of Delaware, Immanuel Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, the Home of the Brave and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others. Our well-known Christmas/holiday program ensures that children who would otherwise go without during the holidays receive the joy and warmth they deserve. In 2023 alone, we impacted over 330 local children, and with your help, we hope to grow this number even further,” said Barrows. “We invite you to continue your support by sponsoring this year’s gala or by making a donation.”
