“We’re very excited to have Dr. Umeh on board to help us meet the growing needs for sports medicine,” said Lawrence Ward, MD, MPH, FACP, Bayhealth vice president, physician services and clinical integration. “Sports medicine physicians not only care for athletes, but also provide specialized care for the many orthopedic injuries that can happen to anyone in daily life or orthopedic problems that stem from overuse or aging. Dr. Umeh will be an asset to our community.”
Before joining Bayhealth, Umeh completed a sports medicine fellowship with Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Mich. He did a family medicine residency with a primary care sports medicine track at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George’s, Grenada.
Umeh also serves as a team physician for Delaware State University.
