Sharon Van Etten has shared a new song that she co-wrote with Courtney Barnett: “Close to You” is featured on the soundtrack for the first season of the new Apple TV+ show The Buccaneers. Listen to the new track below.
Stella Mozgawa (of Warpaint) and Zach Dawes co-produced “Close to You.” Mozgawa also played drums on the song, and Dawes contributed bass. Heba Kadry served as the mastering engineer for “Close to You.”
“Close to You” is the second offering from the Buccaneers soundtrack, following Miya Folick’s “What We Wanna.” The soundtrack—out November 8 via Interscope—also features Lucius, Warpaint, Gracie Abrams, Bully, the Kills’ Alison Mosshart, and more.
Sharon Van Etten has contributed several songs to movies and TV shows this year: She covered “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” for National Geographic’s A Small Light and made “Quiet Eyes” for A24’s Past Lives.
