Hilda the Sea Witch, Snapper the 2023 festival mascot, and oodles of their festooned and costumed friends will march along Rehoboth Avenue beginning at 11 am Saturday, October 28. The parade is part of

the wildly popular three-day Sea Witch Festival hosted by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Locals know that traffic and parking for the parade can be downright terrifying. The chamber recommends that you arrive by 9 am to find parking and a good spot to watch the parade. In general parking on Rehoboth Avenue is not recommended; use adjacent side streets for parking. No parking is permitted in any median spaces on Rehoboth Avenue, around the bandstand, or in front of the library and Summer House. Parking also is restricted on Scarborough Avenue.

Beware also of several street closings:

  • Rehoboth Avenue will close to all traffic from 2 am Saturday, October 28, through the time that fencing is removed following the parade (around 4 pm).
  • 1st and 2nd streets may be utilized to cross Rehoboth Avenue only prior to 9:30 am.
  • State Road, Sussex Street, and 4th Street are closed for parade lineup.
