The second annual Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl to benefit the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation will start with a group photo shoot at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, around the Rehoboth Beach Christmas tree located near the Boardwalk and bandstand.
Supporters are encouraged to dress up as Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, or one of the elves, bring along a new, unwrapped toy donation, and head to Rehoboth to spread some holiday cheer and hop from location to location.
Following the photo, the crawl will be underway until 6 p.m. at 16 participating bars and restaurants. Many will be offering food and drink specials for those donating toys. Attendees are welcome to start and progress in any order and time frame they prefer.
The 2023 Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl will conclude with a Santa dance party featuing a live DJ from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Conch Island Key West Bar & Grill.
The Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl is a free, non-ticketed event. All donated toys will go to Nassau DE LCO, the local organization sponsored by Marine Corps League Diamond State Detachment 704 for the U.S. Marine Toys for Tots regional foundation. All participating restaurants/bars will have official Marine Toys for Tots Foundation toy drop boxes for donations. Several members of the United States Marines Corps will be present to accept toys and pose for pictures.
The inaugural Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl was held in December 2022. Event coordinator Rob Weed said there were approximately 700 attendees, and 1,300 donations were collected for Toys for Tots. Weed has a goal of 2,000 toys for this year’s event.
