Radio Rehoboth
For students at a beginner skill level, ages 18 years and older, the Rehoboth Art League offers a number of classes in various mediums. Classes meet on the league’s historic campus at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.
Barry Koplowitz will lead Beginner Drawing sessions from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, Oct. 1 and 8. The course is designed for the enthusiastic beginner who draws from time to time and would like to learn how to draw from photographs. Basic instruction will cover papers, pencils, markers, charcoal and more. Cost is 115 for RAL members and $125 for nonmembers.
Donna Baratta will lead a Sutton Slice Polymer Clay Pendants and Earrings class from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2. Polymer clay is a versatile, man-made art clay that is oven-cured to a durable finish. In this class, participants will learn to create pendants and earrings using polymer clay and a technique called Sutton Slice. This method provides artists with opportunities to create multicolored patterns using different colors of polymer clay. Cost is $65 for members and $75 for nonmembers, with an additional $25 materials fee to be paid to the instructor.
Joe Terrone will teach a multi-week Landscape Painting series from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesdays, Oct. 2 to Nov. 6. Participants will learn about techniques needed for landscape painting, such as theory of angles, atmospheric perspective, gradation, diffraction, reflective light, simplification and massing, color and light, and composition. Students will work indoors from personal photos. Cost is $250 for members and $285 for nonmembers.
