RAL beginner oil painting class series kicks off July 8

A beginner oil painting class series will kick off from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, July 8, at Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres. Classes continue weekly through July 2.

Students will learn how oil paint works, when to use oil vs. thinner, how to layer paintings, and the basics of glazing, toning and mixing color.

Local artist and instructor Barry Koplowitz will provide the source photo, and will work with each student individually and meet them at their current skill levels.

The class is available for students at a beginner skill level, 16 years old and over. Cost is $195 for RAL members or $230 for nonmembers.
