A Lewes woman faces a child abuse charge after police say she injured a child at a Lewes daycare.
Police were contacted Nov. 15 by a staff member of Beach Babies Daycare on Learning Center Lane near Lewes and learned that another staff member, Kaitlyn Kachnovitz, 22, had forcefully grabbed a 2-year-old child, who received a minor injury, police said.
Kachnovitz’s employment was terminated the same day, police said.
On Nov. 25, Kachnovitz turned herself in at Troop 4 and was charged with felony third-degree child abuse. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on her own recognizance.
