Radio Rehoboth
The Rehoboth Art League will offer a class with artist Jacalyn Beam titled Palette Knife with Purpose: Oil or Acrylic Mediums, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and 12, at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.
This workshop is for painters of all levels, beginner to intermediate. Participants will experiment with palette knife techniques and learn to use the tool with specific purposes in mind. For example, the class will paint a scene using only palette knives. After that, participants will also paint a scene using brushes and palette knives to learn how assorted tools might be used to enhance a work. The cost for the two-day workshop is $275 for members and nonmembers.
Beam holds a doctorate in education and has always had a passion for painting. She is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, Washington Society of Landscape Artists, American Women Artists and Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
