Olivia Rodrigo will perform at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this Friday, November 3. She will join a mystery artist described in the announcement as “one of her heroes.” The Rock Hall has given nothing more away, though Rodrigo has collaborated live with 2023 inductee Sheryl Crow in the past. She also called fellow inductees Rage Against the Machine her “favorite band right now” in a September interview with Rolling Stone. (“Who would have guessed?” Tom Morello responded.)

Despite the Rock Hall’s best efforts to keep the collaborative performance a mystery, the chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Sykes, spilled the beans in an interview with The New York Times. “Olivia Rodrigo is coming in this year,” Sykes said. “Last year she got up and sang ‘You’re So Vain’ by Carly Simon. She’s going to play with Sheryl Crow this year. It’s this mutual admiration that connects the past with the present.”

The full lineup of performers, presenters, and inductees set to attend the Barclays Center ceremony includes Elton John, Stevie Nicks, St. Vincent, Brandi Carlile, Common, Ice-T, LL Cool J, Miguel, Queen Latifah, Sia, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews, H.E.R., and New Edition.

In addition to Crow and Rage, the class of 2023 inductees are Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Willie Nelson, the Spinners, and George Michael. This year’s Musical Influence Awards will go to hip-hop legend DJ Kool Herc and the late Link Wray; the Musical Excellence Award winners are Chaka Khan, Al Kooper, and Elton John songwriter Bernie Taupin. The Ahmet Ertegun Award will be posthumously awarded to Don Cornelius, the creator of Soul Train. The event will stream live on Disney+.
