Hometown cookin’

Isiah Pacheco went to school at nearby Rutgers, and he gave his a hometown stadium a hearty welcome with this 48-yard house call.

Gray area

Kansas City’s offense was humming in the first quarter, and it went up 17-0 courtesy of another masterful drive from Patrick Mahomes, who found Noah Gray for his first TD of the night.

Going deep!

When in doubt, air it out. Zach Wilson struggled early on, but he found some light on this deep heave to the Allen Lazard, which set up a Jets field goal.

Defense to offense

The Jets flew back into the game with a slew of huge plays to close the gap to five. First, Ashtyn Davis picked off Mahomes …

… before Wilson put up a floater to C.J. Uzomah for the TD.

Tie game!

After falling behind 17-0, the Jets made it a 20-20 ballgame on a seven-play, 76-yard drive to open the second half. Wilson fired a dot to Lazard for the TD before making things happen with his feet for the two-point conversion.

Loose ball!

Things remained knotted until the fourth quarter, and after going up three with a field goal, the Chiefs earned another chance after Wilson mishandled a snap in the backfield.

Ice in his veins

There’s just something about that Mahomes guy. The Chiefs didn’t give New York another opportunity after collecting the fumble, ticking 7:24 off the clock and icing the game on this smooth slide from Mahomes. K.C. was able to enter into victory formation after the play, as New York had spent its remaining timeouts.

FINAL: Los Angeles Chargers 24, Las Vegas Raiders 17

Taking it himself

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert ran in a 12-yard touchdown to open the game.

Sneak it in

Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell — who’s starting in place of Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) — executed a quarterback sneak at the goal line for the touchdown.

Capitalizing

Five plays after the Chargers recovered an O’Connell fumble, Herbert hit wide receiver Keenan Allen for a 7-yard touchdown. The Chargers then took advantage of another O’Connell fumble, eventually punching the ball into the end zone. Los Angeles led 24-7.

Mack attack

Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack recorded his SIXTH sack of the game early in the fourth quarter.

Chargers end it

The Raiders got to within one score and forced the Chargers to turn it over on downs at their own 34-yard line, but O’Connell was later intercepted by cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. Three plays later, Herbert connected with Joshua Palmer on a 51-yard deep ball. The Chargers then took a knee.

They do it again!

A drive that started at the Cardinals’ own 1-yard line ended with Dobbs hooking up with Wilson for another touchdown. This time, it was an 8-yard score. Arizona failed a 2-point attempt, though, and trailed 21-16.
