O’Mara exploring gubernatorial run 

Collin O’Mara, former Delaware secretary of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, and current CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, has filed a campaign committee with the State Elections Commissioner to explore a run for governor of Delaware in the 2024 Democratic primary. According to a press release sent Dec. 4, O’Mara has been encouraged to run by a growing number of Delawareans “who want a campaign focused on real solutions to the immense challenges we face.”

A resident of Bear and before that Wilmington, O’Mara was the youngest cabinet secretary in the nation when he was appointed as DNREC secretary in 2009 at the age of 29.

NARFE Chapter 1690 will hold a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at 1776 Steakhouse in the Midway Shopping Center, Route 1, Rehoboth Beach. Reservations must be made via email to luncheon@narfe-de.org by Thursday, Dec. 7. Lewes architecture panel to meet Dec. 7

The Lewes Historic Preservation Architectural Review Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Rollins Center.

The agenda includes discussion and possible action on behalf of Darnell and Darryl Daisey for the renovation of the existing house and addition to the rear of the dwelling at 111 Coleman Ave.

Green infrastructure committee meets Dec. 8 in Rehoboth

Henlopen Acres commissioner meeting set Dec. 8

The agenda calls for a discussion on virtual participation in commissioner and committee meetings, a review of last fiscal year’s audited financial statements, a presentation by town security, and a discussion and possible action on changes to marina policies.

The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission will meet at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, in the city hall commissioners room, 229 Rehoboth Ave. 

The agenda calls for a possible recommendation to city commissioners on revision to city code related to the subdivision of land and site-plan review, and a discussion related to administrative lot mergers and separations.
