Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a special meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 1. The agenda calls for a discussion on the qualifications of individual candidates for employment as city manager. The city is looking for the replacement of former City Manager Laurence Christian, who stepped down in early November after 10 months on the job. The agenda includes a possible executive session.

The Dewey Beach investment committee will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. Members will hear presentations from the town manager regarding financial needs and budget status and from Dominic DiFebo of Brown Advisory regarding the portfolio. The committee may vote to approve new investment policy guidelines and to recommend to town council amendments to the town virtual meeting policy. Lewes Mayor and Council will hold a workshop and special meeting at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 30 at City Hall.
The agenda includes discussion and possible action on changes a zoning ordinance as related to manufactured home parks.
Mayor and Council are also scheduled for continued discussion and possible action on a request by First Baptist Church of Lewes to reconsider approved conditions to the preliminary site plan.

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will begin selling surf-fishing permits and annual passes for state parks starting at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28. They can be purchased at any state park office or at DNREC’s main office in Dover, or online at destateparks.com/Know/PassesTagsFees.
Annual passes are $35 for Delaware residents and $70 for nonresidents, with discounted rates for seniors and first responders. One-year surf-fishing tags are $90 for residents and $180 for nonresidents. Two-year permits are $180 for residents and $360 for nonresidents.
DNREC will continue its daily drive-on reservation program for surf-fishing with reservations required on holidays and weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
A low-digit surf fishing license plate auctions will continue through Thursday, Dec. 7 at usgovbid.com.
The Association of Coastal towns will meet at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Dewey Beach Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. Members will hear updates from the Center for Inland Bays, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and Sea Grant.
