Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware Valley announced that its Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has attained accreditation through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) for the second consecutive year in Teaching/Education and Systems Integration.
As of 2023, NICE is one of 202 programs to be fully accredited by SSH and one of 15 accredited in the specific areas of Teaching/Education and Systems Integration in the world. The Society’s Accreditation Council has once again voted Nemours as one of the top programs with exemplars found during accreditation reviews.
“It is an honor to be consistently recognized for our outstanding simulation-based programs,” Maria Carmen Diaz, MD, medical director of Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, said. “This achievement emphasizes the impact that our simulation programs have toward improving the quality of care as well as the spaces, systems, processes and flow of Nemours Children’s Health.”
In 2018, NICE became one of just over 100 fully accredited simulation programs in the world and received additional recognition as one of the most esteemed newly accredited programs. Every five years, Nemours completes an intense review process which includes a 2,600-page written application, video submissions of the program’s work and an on-site survey conducted by the SSH Simulation Accreditation Review Team.
