American Airlines, in partnership with The Landline Company, is launching its new service connecting passengers from the Wilmington Airport to Philadelphia International Airport via luxury motorcoaches.
Effective Oct. 7, the premium motorcoach connection will allow passengers to combine the convenience of not having to drive themselves to the Philadelphia airport with the benefits of a flight on American Airlines’ global network. Passengers will park at Wilmington Airport, check their luggage to their final destination and clear TSA security locally at ILG prior to boarding the motorcoach to PHL. During the nonstop journey to Philadelphia, passengers will enjoy top-tier amenities before arriving post security at PHL, Terminal F. The schedule is timed to connect to key American Airlines flights with six daily roundtrip operations.
Travelers flying into Philadelphia and connecting to Wilmington will be able to board the motorcoach airside without leaving the secure area. Any checked luggage will be transferred automatically to the motorcoach, and passengers will pick up their bags upon arrival at Wilmington Airport.
“The American Airlines/Landline service allows passengers to travel with peace of mind, knowing their connections are protected with American Airlines. Riding with Landline eliminates the hassle of trying to find a ride or driving and parking at PHL,” said Hannah Tamura, Landline spokesperson. “The ability to clear TSA security at ILG instead of waiting in unpredictable security lines at PHL is an added benefit.”
“We’re thrilled that the American Airlines-Landline connection service has been added to the menu of customer offerings at ILG,” said Thomas J. Cook, executive director of the Delaware River & Bay Authority. “At Wilmington Airport – ILG, we pride ourselves in offering a fast, affordable, smooth and convenient hometown airport experience for our customers. For those who are looking for quality service without the big-city airport hassles associated with parking, check-in or security screening, I’d encourage you to give the new American Airlines service at ILG a try.”
Each Landline motorcoach is handicap accessible and equipped with 35 premium leather seats in a 2×1 configuration offering extended legroom, free Wi-Fi, in-seat power outlets and an onboard lavatory. Travelers will also receive itinerary protection and earn AAdvantage miles while riding with American.
Here are the highlights:
Customers looking to book the seamless connection to and from PHL can book the motorcoach at the same time they book their flight on aa.com by searching Wilmington (ILG) to their initial or final destination.
