The Milton Garden Club will exhibit at Holly Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, on the sidewalk at 210 Union St., in front of the Milton Historical Society. The festival officially ends at 3 p.m., but because the museum is on the Holiday House Tour starting at 2:30 p.m., the garden club will close up shop at 2 p.m.

The garden club will be selling bundles of greens, fresh mixed greens wreaths, arrangements, centerpieces with and without candles, swags, mailbox covers, patio/porch pots for the holidays or winter, and branches of pine, holly and magnolia.

Club members are always very busy for the three weeks prior to Holly Fest, as all the greens are clipped fresh in different parts of Sussex County, and all the wreaths and other items for sale are made by club members and their friends. As a bonus, the club will have one holly wreath for sale made by Mike Wadja, a native Miltonian who grew up in town at the end of its holly wreath-making fame. No magnolia/boxwood or boxwood wreaths will be available, as they are sold out.

At 11 a.m., garden club members Kathryn Greig and Ingrid Bogen will be inside the museum for a special presentation on wreath-making. They will discuss different varieties of holly and the reason the club does not make holly wreaths, and demonstrate how to make the club’s signature magnolia/boxwood wreath. This completed wreath will be given to some lucky person who attends the presentation. The techniques the club uses to make the mixed greens wreath will also be discussed.

Throughout the day, club members will continue to sell their 50/50 raffle tickets at $1 each or six for $5. The winning ticket will be drawn at 2 p.m. Club members extend thanks to everyone who has already purchased a ticket.

For more information or to place an order, call Kathryn Greig at 302-684-3804.
