Lincoln man charged with hit-and-run in stolen truck

A Lincoln man faces felony charges Nov. 23 after police say he stole a truck and crashed into another before fleeing.

Police responded at 9:29 a.m. to a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle and learned David Frasier, 32, had stolen an unoccupied white Ford Econoline delivery truck while the driver was delivering a package on Johnson Road. Frasier then drove westbound on Johnson Road toward Dupont Boulevard, police said, where he crashed the truck into the side of a white BMW that was stopped at a red light. After the crash, police said, Frasier fled in the stolen truck northbound on Dupont Boulevard and continued to drive recklessly while spilling packages from the vehicle onto the roadway. A short time later, police said, Frasier abandoned the stolen truck and fled on foot.

Witnesses provided Frasier’s description, and responding officers from the Milford Police Department quickly located and took him into custody without incident. The occupants of the BMW were not injured.

Frasier was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with four counts of first-degree reckless endangering, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while suspended or revoked, leaving the scene of a property collision accident, failure to report public highway collision with damage greater than $2,000, failure to provide information at collision scene and additional traffic offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $42,506 cash bond.
