Homestead Campground, established in 1974, is celebrating its 50th-anniversary season as a popular camping destination for tourists visiting the Delaware resort area.
Originally owned and operated by the Prettyman family, and situated on Prettyman Road east of Georgetown, the property was sold in 2012 to Investors Realty Inc., a local investment group whose team has made numerous improvements to the property over its 12 years of ownership.
“We are proud to be one of the few remaining locally owned and operated campgrounds in the area, and we hope to continue delivering a great camping experience to our guests for another half-century,” said Casey Kenton of Investors Realty.
Homestead Campground consists of 358 sites with numerous amenities including two pools, a community center, a splash pad, dog park, fishing pond, basketball court and arcade. Homestead offers seasonal, nightly and weekly camping for all types of camping equipment, and also offers cabin accommodations.
Homestead Campground recently scored a 9-9-8.5 (out of 10) rating from the Good Sam RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory.
