DELAWARE CITY – Delaware City Refining Company donates $218,000 to 20 charitable and non-profit organizations from the annual charity golf fundraiser.

Former Delaware City Refining Company Plant Manager José Dominguez established the DCRC Charity Golf Fundraiser in 2015 to expand the refinery’s annual philanthropic outreach efforts to raise additional funds to help meet the growing financial needs of charitable and non-profit organizations in the state. Over the past eight years, the proceeds from the annual event enabled the refinery to contribute over $1.8 million in donations to more than 100 charitable and non-profit organizations throughout the region.

“With José Dominguez’s vision, we have developed and maintained a phenomenal funding source for non-profits in and around Delaware,” Michael Capone, general manager of Delaware City Refining Company, said. “Our contribution to our host community and the surrounding communities far exceeds what we could have imagined. I was proud and humbled to present the monetary gifts to the 2023 beneficiaries and to know that on behalf of PBF Energy, we can ensure that those who are struggling, those who are sick, those who promote the arts, and those who are taking care of our veterans and seniors, receive our
support.”

The 20 local charitable and non-profit organizations that will share the $218,000 this year were chosen by refinery employees and include: Amanecer Counseling and Resource Center, Autism Delaware, Delaware City Library, Delaware City Police Athletic League, Delaware Council of Wildlife Rehabilitators and Educators, Delaware Hospice, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Easterseals of Delaware &Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Greater Boys & Girls Club of Newark, Greater Delaware Valley Juvenile Diabetes, Habitat for Humanity, The Hope Center, Jobs for Delaware Graduates, Kind to Kids Foundation, Meals on Wheels-Delaware City, Neighborhood House, Delaware Dreams, New Castle Senior Center, United Way Pride Council, and the Veteran’s Administrative Hospital.

Capone said, “Delaware City Refining Company has some of the most generous, dedicated, and committed employees and vendor partners. The success of the Charity Golf Fundraiser reflects the refinery’s culture to work together to establish and maintain value, trusted relationships with our business partners and in our host communities.”
