Radio Rehoboth
A Salisbury, Md. couple faces theft charges after police say they were caught stealing more than $2,000 in merchandise from several outlet stores near Rehoboth Beach.
Police were first called about 5 p.m., Aug. 28, to the Coach outlet in Tanger Outlets Surfside over a stolen duffle bag, but they could not find the perpetrator. About 7 p.m., police again responded to Tanger Outlets Bayside where they learned a couple had stolen items from the Nike store, and were seen in a black Toyota Corolla with Delaware registration.
While searching the shopping center for the suspects, troopers found the Toyota parked in the lot and contacted the sole occupant, identified as Kizzy Holbrook, 44, and she was arrested without incident. Troopers then found Antonio Hunter, 28, as he was exiting the Lids outlet, and arrested him without incident.
Police said troopers searched the Toyota and found merchandise that was stolen from Coach, Nike, Victoria’s Secret, Lids, and Adidas valued about $2,293.
Hunter and Holbrook were both taken to Troop 7, where they were charged with four counts of felony organized retail theft, felony shoplifting over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, and receiving stolen property.
They were both arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on their own recognizance.
