The Coastal Camera Club, in collaboration with the City of Rehoboth Beach, will open its latest photography exhibition, Capturing Coastal Calm, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at Rehoboth Beach City Hall. Art enthusiasts and the general public are invited to explore the subtle beauty and serene transformation of the local landscape from the bustling summer season to the quieter fall and winter months.

Club photographers have captured the shifting light, muted colors and tranquil moods that define Rehoboth’s off-season. Their works depict scenes of untouched landscapes, gentle seascapes and peaceful moments, as well as glimpses of wildlife and cherished local landmarks.

A curated selection of 16 works by 11 Coastal Camera Club members forms this exhibition. Featured photographers are Nancy Allen, Scott Becque, Linda Benzon, Kathy Campos, Bill Cheadle, Mark Houlday, Clara Licata, Steve Licata, Victoria Smith, Doug Strande and Rich White.

Lynne Coan, city communications manager, and Deb Payette and Leslie Sinclair, Coastal Camera Club members, comprised the juror team. They carefully evaluated each piece to assemble a collection that offers a captivating visual journey through the local landscape.

The exhibit is part of the Art in City Hall program that is dedicated to supporting local artists and providing the public with enriching art experiences, reinforcing the city’s mission to cultivate a vibrant arts community.

“This exhibition reflects the tranquil beauty of our Rehoboth community,” said Coan. “We’re grateful to the Coastal Camera Club for sharing their artistry, and we’re honored that city hall serves as a welcoming space for the community to come together and appreciate the work of our local artists.”

Doug Strande, Coastal Camera Club president, said, “Our members value the opportunity to showcase their work in such a meaningful setting. We appreciate the City of Rehoboth Beach for making this space available and for supporting the arts. This exhibit stands as a testament to the dedication and talent of our community.”
