The Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre will present its 44th season of camps, performances and family fun in 2025.
With “Aladdin” as its outreach tour, RSCT will bring 19 free public performances to venues throughout Sussex and Kent counties from Monday, July 14, through Friday, Aug. 8. The play tells the familiar story of a street urchin, a magic lamp and a powerful genie. The RSCT version spices up the original with the addition of an eager apprentice genie. Two actors play all the characters in a delightful 45-minute show.
Bringing “Aladdin” to life is the summer resident team of Elena Nahrmann and Jed Krivisky.
Nahrmann is a Philadelphia-based multi-disciplinary theatre artist. When off stage, she can be found coaching aerial arts and acrobatics, helping others find freedom through movement.
Krivisky returns to Delaware after performing in RSCT’s “Robin Hood” tour last summer.
In Aladdin, Nahrmann plays The Sorceress, The Genie, The Princess and Aladdin’s Mother. Krivisky plays Aladdin, The Princess’ Servant and Mister Green Genie.
RSCT also offers weeklong film and theater camps for ages 8-14, providing young actors and filmmakers with opportunities to develop their skills and creativity with an experienced staff of teaching artists. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the fellowship hall at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.
Film campers will create their own original films, learning skills, terminology and the importance of collaboration in video production. Each week ends with a mini-film festival, screening the campers’ work. Film camp dates are July 7-12, July 14-18, July 21-24 and July 28- Aug. 1.
Two weeks of theater camp, Aug. 11-15 and Aug. 18-22, include stage games and improvisations designed to improve campers’ acting and communication skills. Participants will audition for roles and rehearse a scripted play performed for family and friends on Friday afternoon.
