Due to the drought, please conserve water ecorcoran Tue, 10/29/2024 - 09:03 A drought watch is now in effect throughout the state of Delaware. Residents are urged to take the drought watch seriously and mitigate water usage. Limit outdoor water use by reducing the watering of lawns and outdoor plants. The City of Rehoboth Beach water department will be shutting off all irrigation to city property this week. The burning ban ordered October 15 is still in effect as well.

Dewey leaders set 2-foot freeboard requirement

Despite the unanimous recommendation of the planning and zoning commission and one leader’s objection, Dewey Beach commissioners voted 4-1 Oct. 18, to set a 2-foot freeboard requirement rather than the proposed 3-foot minimum for structures in a FEMA-designated flood zone.
