Indian River power plant to close

The coal-fired Indian River power plant is scheduled to retire in February 2025, company and power grid officials announced Dec. 23. The power plant, which has been in operation since 1957, had been scheduled to close in 2022, but it continued to operate under a Reliability-Must-Run agreement made with power grid operator PJM Interconnection. Two injured in Old Landing Road crash

, Two people were injured in a Dec. 26 crash on Old Landing Road. The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. when two vehicles collided at the entrance to the Rehoboth Mall, according to the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. Two people were transported to the hospital by RBVFC ambulances. Delaware State Police are investigating.
