Historic Lewes Farmers Market moves to Lewes Elementary Sept. 30

Because of inclement weather expected this Saturday, Sept. 30, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market will be held at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Fall Market will begin Saturday, Oct. 7, and continue each Saturday through Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot, 820 Savannah Road, Lewes.

Keith Heacook has elected to forgo a jury trial and instead have a bench trial starting Monday, Oct. 16 in Delaware Superior Court in Georgetown. Dewey officers, lifeguards recognized for saving man’s life

Members of the Dewey Beach Patrol and police department were recognized at the Sept. 15 commissioners meeting for their efforts in saving a man’s life this summer. Town Manager Bill Zolper said police officers Lt. Cliff Dempsey and Pfc. Dylan Ebke, and lifeguards Lt. Hank Coveleski and Lt.
