Lewes water main pipe pulled under canal

Construction of the new Lewes water main canal crossing is slightly behind schedule, but moving ahead. Tom Panetta, BPW board president, said crews from Teal Construction pulled the new pipe under the canal to the American Legion Road side Dec. 21. Milford man killed in hit-and-run near Lincoln

A Milford man was killed Dec. 25, following a hit-and-run crash near Lincoln. The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. while Leo Hernandez Perez, 29, was walking along Cubbage Pond Road. According to police, a Toyota Tundra traveling northbound on the same road struck the man and fled the scene, police said. The Toyota was later found abandoned on Johnson Road.
