A 66-year-old Greenwood man faces his fifth driving under the influence charge after police found him asleep in his truck Oct. 30 in Milton.

Police responded at 3:37 p.m. to the Valero gas station on Deep Branch Road, where they found a man slumped over the steering wheel of his Ford F-150 pickup truck. A trooper woke up the driver, Johnny Diogo, who showed signs of impairment, police said. The trooper conducted a field sobriety test on Diogo, police said, and searched the car, finding drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Diogo was taken to Troop 7, where a computer check revealed that he had four previous DUI convictions. He was charged with felony fifth-offense DUI, and other drug offenses. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $3,200 secured bond.
