Radio Rehoboth
For the second time in three weekends, it appears that President Joe Biden is going to be spending a few days at his North Shores home, just north of Rehoboth Beach.
According to a Daily Guidance and Press Schedule issued Nov. 2 by the White House, the president and first lady are expected to be in Rehoboth around 9:40 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3.
The daily guidance also says the Bidens are traveling to Lewiston, Maine, earlier in the day, to pay respects to the victims of the mass shooting that took place Oct. 25. They’re expected to also meet with first responders, nurses and others on the front lines of the response.
It’s not exactly clear how long the Bidens will be in town, but a flight restriction notice issued Nov. 3 by the Federal Aviation Administration has restrictions in place through 1:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6.
Here’s a list of security measures taken when Biden is in town:
Biden typically doesn’t do too much when he’s in town for these long weekends – a bike ride on the Gordons Pond Trail, a walk on the beach, mass at St. Edmond Catholic Church. However, last time he was in town, he and Jill ate at Egg in Rehoboth Beach, and they dined at Matt’s Fish Camp outside Lewes this summer. So keep your eyes peeled, and send photos to reporter Chris Flood at cflood@capegazette.com.
