A Millsboro man faces charges after police say he stole more than $10,000 in cigarettes from a Long Neck Wawa.
Police were called to the Wawa on Route 24 at 6:42 a.m., Oct. 10, for a theft complaint involving Michael Switzer, 57. Following witness interviews and video surveillance, police said, Switzer had stolen about $10,800 worth of cigarette cartons since June 2023 and then resold them. A Delaware State Police trooper contacted Switzer at the store and took him into custody without incident. Switzer was transported to Troop 7 and charged with one count of felony theft. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
