Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a special meeting for 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 29, in the city hall commissioners room, 229 Rehoboth Ave. They will conduct a public hearing related to abandoning roughly 65 feet of the eastern edge of Baltimore Avenue, because the space is needed for the new beach patrol headquarters and comfort station.

Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a public hearing on cluster subdivision Twin Masts with 249 single-family home lots on 133 acres on the north side of Round Pole Bridge Road and the west side of Route 1. The original plan was withdrawn April 27 when it was scheduled for a vote by the commission.
There are also six applications on the agenda filed by Consolidated Edison Development Inc. for solar farms throughout the county, including 43 acres on Route 9 near Harbeson Road outside Milton; 37 acres on Kendale Road near Lewes; 143 acres on Woodland Ferry Road near Seaford; 75 acres on South Main Street, Bridgeville; 29 acres on West Line Road, Delmar; and 54 acres on Bacons Road near Delmar. The first evening prime-time Delaware Republican Party Town Hall featuring Chair Julianne Murray will take place Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the event will begin at 7 p.m.; it will also be broadcast live on WUSX 98.5 FM, with hosts including John Tabacco, Jake Smith and MJ Powell.
Murray will discuss the current state of the Delaware GOP, her vision for the future and her plans for upcoming election cycles.
Audience general admission seats are available by reservation on thetalkofdelmarva.com; cost is $30 each, payable at the door.
Proceeds will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers project. Both in-person and radio audience members may submit questions electronically via the website prior to or during the town hall event.
Mulligan’s Pointe will be open for restaurant dinner and bar service beginning at 4 p.m.
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, at Love Creek Elementary. Members will possibly take action on middle school enrollment areas and will discuss the unit count, class size waiver and elementary enrollment.
