Rehoboth Beach has installed a water bottle refilling station in Grove Park. The city announced the recent installation on its Facebook page earlier this month.
“Located on the side of the Grove Park restroom facility, this new water bottle refilling station will come in handy for park visitors and those using the nearby bike/walking trail,” reads the city’s announcement.
In an email Sept. 18, Public Works Director Kevin Williams said this was the only water bottle refilling station that was installed, and Grove Park was chosen because it’s a high-use area with proximity to the bike path and exercise equipment at the playground. Two refill stations are planned at the new Rehoboth Beach Patrol/Baltimore Avenue comfort station project, he said.
Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control provided a grant to purchase the equipment – $3,334. The city paid for installation – $1,500.
