Artist reception with Susan Macintire set Sept. 6

During the month of September, local artist Susan MacIntire will sell original artwork in Studio E at the Art League of Ocean City, 502 94th St., Ocean City, Md.

All are invited to attend the exhibit reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6.

She will also be using the studio space to work on paintings throughout the month, and visitors are encouraged to stop in for a private meet and greet or email the artist for an appointment at mrscfmacintire@msn.com.

Raised in Dewey Beach and currently residing in Rehoboth Beach, Macintire’s lifelong ties to the coast largely inform her subject matter. Her Delaware landscape paintings reflect her love for its beaches and defining local landmarks. She also has a passion for depicting animals, florals and traditional still life scenes.

Macintire said, ”I use mainly realism, occasionally venturing into modern art, impressionism and abstract. I dabble in pastels, but use mainly oils, and mainly Old Holland oil paints, the best quality oil paints.”
