A Millsboro man faces burglary and theft charges Aug. 29 after police say he broke into a house and cars in the Oak Orchard area.
Troopers responded to a burglary at 5:17 p.m. August 24 at a home in the 28000 block of Cherokee Avenue after someone forced entry into a house, but took nothing. During the burglary investigation, troopers learned that between August 23 and August 24, an unknown suspect removed and attempted to remove property from unsecured vehicles on Cherokee and Wynikako Avenue. Police said they identified Wayne Warwick, 30, as the suspect, obtained warrants for his arrest, and arrested him Aug. 29.
Warwick was taken to Troop 4 and charged with third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 when victim is 62 or older, two counts attempted theft under $1,500 when victim is 62 or older, attempted theft under $1,500, criminal mischief, and four counts of third-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
