Local legislators to host talk June 3

Sen. Russ Huxtable, D-Lewes, and Rep. Stell Parker Selby, D-Milton, will host a constituent coffee event at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3, at Milton Public Library, 121 Union St., Milton. They will be available to talk with community members who want to share their thoughts and concerns, and discuss important issues.

Sussex council meeting June 4

Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda are a Delaware Coastal Airport master plan update by manager Robert Bryan and a public hearing on an ordinance to eliminate the positions of department head of emergency operations and department head of emergency medical services, and to create the new position of department head of public safety.

Meet Rehoboth city manager June 5

Rehoboth Beach City Manager Taylour Tedder will host a coffee and conversation event at 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, in the training room on the third floor of Rehoboth Beach City Hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. Tedder began his new role with the city May 15.

A city press release said the event is expected to last about an hour.

Special Rehoboth BoA meeting set June 6

The Rehoboth Beach Board of Adjustment will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 6, in the city hall commissioners room, 229 Rehoboth Ave. 

The agenda calls for continuation of a variance request for Baja Bob’s, a new taco stand on the Boardwalk. 

The variance is needed because the applicant would like to serve alcohol at the restaurant. 

The applicant requires a variance to allow the operation of a restaurant containing liquor service above the allowable 2,500 square feet contained within the entirety of the building.

Lewes environmental panel to meet June 3

The Lewes Planning Commission’s Environmental Subcommittee will meet at 1 p.m., Monday, June 3, at city hall.

The agenda includes discussion of potential environmental regulations.

Lewes council to hold public hearing June 3

Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 3, at the Rollins Center.
