True Blue Jazz will present Minas in concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 27, in Grand Cru Hall at Nassau Valley Vineyards. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with full bar service available.
The Cape Henlopen High School Jazz Combo will be the opening act.
Minas is the creation of husband-and-wife musical team Orlando Haddad and Patricia King, combining Brazilian and American roots. The show consists of Brazilian guitar and jazz piano, male and female vocals, English and Portuguese poetry, a repertoire of classic Brazilian bossa and samba with an impressive array of original music, accompanied by some of Philadelphia’s finest musicians on drums, bass and saxophone.
The program will feature the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Cole Porter and original compositions.
Tickets are $35 and benefit the True Blue Jazz Scholarship Fund. Each year, True Blue Jazz awards scholarships to graduating seniors going on to study for a professional career in music.
