After teasing the project earlier this month, A24 has officially announced its new covers compilation Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense. The 16-song LP will mirror the original tracklist of Talking Heads’ legendary 1984 concert film (and the corresponding live album), and feature recordings by the National, Lorde, Toro y Moi, Kevin Abstract, the Linda Lindas, Miley Cyrus, BadBadNotGood, Teezo Touchdown, Blondshell, and more. Today, Paramore have released their rendition of “Burning Down the House,” which you can hear below.
A24 also enlisted the Cavemen., Chicano Batman featuring Money Mark, DJ Tunez, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, Girl in Red, and Jean Dawson for the tribute LP. A release date for the project has not yet been revealed.
Everyone’s Getting Involved celebrates A24’s recent re-release of Stop Making Sense, Jonathan Demme’s groundbreaking concert film that was shot over three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983. The independent film company recently kicked off a new slate of theatrical screenings that will play in cities such as Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
Upon teasing the project, A24 released a humorous clip in which Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams finds a large package on her doorstep containing jumbo grey suit—just like the one David Byrne sports onstage in Stop Making Sense. The video ends with a snippet of Paramore playing “Burning Down the House.”
