2024 College Football Championship odds: Texas favored; Penn State rises

The first round of the College Football Playoff is in the books. Now, we’re in the midst of the quarterfinals. 

Seven teams remain in the CFP. Let’s check out the national title odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of Jan. 1.

CFP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: 

Texas Longhorns: +320 (bet $10 to win $42 total)
Ohio State Buckeyes: +340 (bet $10 to win $44 total)
Penn State Nittany Lions: +425 (bet $10 to win $52.50 total)
Oregon Ducks: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Georgia Bulldogs: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Notre Dame Fighting Irish: +650 (bet $10 to win $75 total)
Arizona State: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total)

Texas is the title favorite, with Ohio State and Penn State just behind.

The Nittany Lions saw their odds climb after earning the first quarterfinal win of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. They beat third-seeded Boise State 31-14 on Tuesday night.

Ohio State remained second on the board after it blasted Tennessee 42-17 in the first round.

Interestingly enough, of the top three teams on the oddsboard, none are conference champions. Big Ten winner Oregon is fourth, SEC winner Georgia is fifth, and Big 12 winner Arizona State is seventh.
